'the house with one wall' A.L

Practicality was the provocation. What if a disaster struck Portugal. What if we will need semi-permanent emergency housing in the center of Lisbon. Its urban voids will be modularly filled in by mini homes of 50m2 for at least three inhabitants.

It was a scenario that can be easily associated with the functionality of the renowned work of Adolf Loos. Focused on his famous: ‘house with one wall’, this project or, rather this chaining of philosophies and principles, tried to give it a twisted meaning. Almost temped to say: literally and figuratively.
The ‘one wall’ was here the meaning of endless (possible) repetition. Not only as a divider of horizontal space and planning, but also as a vertical creator of spaces and actions/functions.
A crawling line crosses the habitat and its possible agglomeration. In principle the clear delineated and conformed spaces help the user to easily and efficiently adapt and ‘move in’ with their limited belongings.
The actual spatial development of this concept turned out to be relatively limited. The dynamic forms and dimensions are identified but could be explored more thoroughly .
But why not, should it be a challenge for future deviations and wanderings?
